The K-League's annual salary king was Lingard from the English Premier League (EPL), and Cho Hyun-woo (Ulsan) among Korean players.
The Korea Professional Football Association announced on Monday the current status of players' annual salary expenditures at 11 K-League 1 teams (excluding military team Kim Cheon-moo) and 13 K-League 2 teams during the 2024 season. By team, Ulsan, which won its third consecutive K-League 1 title, was in the order of 20.91 billion won (25.37 million dollars), Jeonbuk was in the order of 20.45 billion won (20.57 million dollars), and Seoul was in the order of 1,481,803,000 won (11.84 billion dollars).
The average annual salary per player in the K League 1 is 34995,000 won (318,815 U.S. dollars). The average annual salary of a Korean player was 235.19 million won (23,918 dollars) per player, while that of a foreign player was 793.981 million won (723,940 dollars). The average annual salary per player in each club was 612.06 million won (610,690 dollars) in Ulsan, 48351,000 won (410,370 dollars) in Jeonbuk, and 374.951 million won (310,740 dollars) in Seoul.
Starting with Cho Hyun-woo (1.49 billion won), Ulsan Kim Young-kwon (1.45 billion won), Jeonbuk Kim Jin-soo (1.37 billion won), Jeonbuk Lee Seung-woo (1.35 billion won), and Jeonbuk Park Jin-seop (1.17 billion won) ranked first and fifth in the top salary among domestic players.
Among the foreign players, the highest salaries were Lingard in Seoul (1.82 billion won), Cesinha in Daegu (1.73 billion won), Mugosa in Incheon (1.54 billion won), Gerso in Incheon (1.44 billion won), and Illichenko in Seoul (1.43 billion won).
